And technically, this is a tacit admission that the data was accessed unlawfully in the course of at least one investigation.
#Singapore being IIRC a common law jurisdiction this means that even illegally obtained evidence may still be admissible.
But it shouldn't stop those who accessed the data without authority from being prosecuted. Otherwise it's not a Rechtsstaat but simply arbitrary use and abuse of power.
